Step 1. Install CZ Print Job Tracker on the print server that has the printer shared. See Option 1 (recommended): Install CZ Print Job Tracker on your Windows print server.

Step 2. In Preferences --> Advanced, select "Save printed documents as PDF".

 

Step 3. Send a print job to the shared printer \\printserver\printer from a workstation.

Step 4. In CZ Print Job Tracker --> Printed Jobs, double click the print job to view the content.

Common Issues:

1. The format of current printer driver is not supported or you are unable to view the content clearly.

A. In the "Properties" of printer or in the "Printing Preferences", use "EMF Spooling", then restart the Print Spooler service. (Control Panel --> Administrative Tools --> Service) and test again.

B. If A doesn't work, use PCL printer driver and keep the same printer name, then test again.

 

C.  If B doesn't work, use PostScript printer driver and keep the same printer name, add printer name to the file C:\Program Files\CZ Solution\CZ Print Job Tracker\config\p2.txt . then test again.

 

D.  If C doesn't work, use XPS printer driver and keep the same printer name, remove printer name from the file C:\Program Files\CZ Solution\CZ Print Job Tracker\config\p2.txt and add printer name to the file C:\Program Files\CZ Solution\CZ Print Job Tracker\config\p3.txt , then test again.

 

If you still can't see the content of the print job, please email the name of printer driver to support@czsolution.com .

2. The content file can't be found

Install CZ Print Job Tracker on the print server that has the printer shared. See Option 1 (recommended): Install CZ Print Job Tracker on your Windows print server.

Check if the spool file format is #####.spl where ##### is the number (for example 00002.spl) in the content directory e.g. C:\Program Files\CZ Solution\CZ Print Job Tracker\content\.  If it shows FP#####, please follow the instructions below to turn off Spool File Pooling on the print server, then send a new print job to test.

On Windows print Server,    

  1. Click Start, click Run, type regedit in the Open box, and then click OK.
  2. Locate the following registry subkey:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print
  3. On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.
  4. In the New Value #1 box, type DisableServerFilePooling, and then press ENTER.
  5. Right-click DisableServerFilePooling, and then click Modify.
  6. In the Value data box, type 1 to turn off spool file pooling, and then click OK.
  7. Quit Registry Editor.
  8. Restart the Print Spooler service. (Control Panel --> Administrative Tools --> Service)
  9. Send a new print job to test.
